The Rotary Foundation and Giving

Our members are among the most generous in District 5790. Here is where the money goes and how you can help.

What the Foundation does

Doing good in the world.

The Rotary Foundation transforms your gifts into service projects that change lives, both close to home and around the world. Since 1917 it has spent more than $4 billion on life-changing, sustainable projects in seven areas of focus: promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water and sanitation, saving mothers and children, supporting education, growing local economies, and protecting the environment.

Every Rotarian, Every Year (EREY). All 67 Sunrise members give to the Annual Fund every year. Those gifts come back to District 5790 as grants for local and international projects.

PolioPlus

End Polio Now, and forever.

Rotary has been fighting polio since 1985. Back then the disease paralyzed 350,000 children a year in 125 countries; today it survives only in a few remaining pockets. More than 20 million children have been spared paralysis. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation matches every Rotary dollar two to one, so a $100 gift becomes $300 for vaccines.

Sunrise Rotary runs a PolioPlus fundraiser every October and members give year-round.
